Graduation Day

A few weeks ago, a very special young man completed a long journey and just this past week, he began another. Jon (the son of one of my best friends) worked very hard to get himself down a long road- amidst the angst and tumult of the average teen aged boys' high school year, he fought his own inner battles. In the past few year this amazing man has overcome many of the obstacles his autism has presented him and made it, victorious to Graduation Day!

I counted myself lucky to be invited to watch him receive not one, but two diplomas! He graduated with honors from his school, and also from the local high school as well! I was so proud to be there to watch him mark the milestone.

This past week, he left for Fort Benning- a solider he intends to be. Having watched his determination and drive, a fine one he will make! So, to Jonnie- a proud salute for a new undertaking; as well as huge hugs for a mission just accomplished!
