11-29-12 = 5 months

Wyatt is another month older!!

He is really growing and changing!  Recent developments include laughing and pushing up on all fours.
He will laugh and giggle, but you have to really coax it out of him.  He continues to be happy and smile a lot, he will vocalize, but getting the laugh is work though!  He talks a lot and loves to babble and be part of a conversation.
He moves all around now- he can't be trusted to stay put anywhere- he rolls all about and scootches too.  He works his way backwards in little movements pushing along on all fours.  He gets up on his toes and occasionally his knees.  He totally gets his bum and belly off the ground.  We got him a bouncy horse- he loves to bounce around in that too.
He eats 5 or 6 ounces at a time, is in 6-9 month clothes and is about 16 and a half pounds.  He sucks everything he can get to his mouth, but no sign of any teeth.  For the most part he sleeps well, and is honestly a really pleasant baby!  He and Wes are going to be thick as thieves and it won't be too much longer before the two of them are wreaking havoc on the house!  I suspect he will be mobile by this time next month... or shortly there-after... then the real fun begins!!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Wilson/Kramer/Roth side of the family at our house.  We had 13 people, which worked out great since Mom-Mom gave me one of her beautiful lenox patterns and we had just enough place settings.  With the den downstairs coming along we had cleared some of the furniture out of the living room, so we were able to put our two tables end to end in there and had plenty of space!  We had plenty of food too: Bill had bartered with a client and we had almost 25lbs of fresh turkey!

Although we haven't really started Wy on solids yet, he had some sweet potato and s bit o apple sauce.  He really isn't ready for food yet- he still tongue thrusts, but he sure did enjoy eating with everyone!
As always I am aware of all the many things I have to be thankful for... this year another happy healthy baby tops that list!

Best Tea Party Ever

A few weeks back Wes organized a tea party for me.  I let him set it up on his own:
a dinosaur, car, helicoptor, gun and scope, some popcorn, ranch dip, whipped cream and cocoa (since Wes isn't a tea drinker!)
The best part ?! Naked wait staff!!

Using sippy cups seemed like a good idea, until Wes laid down on the carpet... forgot we had no lids and tried to take a sip...

Don't the best partys end up with drinking in the tub anyhow?!

2 Teens

We now have 2 teenage girls in the house! Savy turned 13 on the 17th.
We did our usual family dinner and she also had a mall party with her friends.  I made a scavenger hunt of 10 items and they also had 10 questions to answer in the mall.  We had a cupcake feast in the food court and I also gave them some time to go off and shop.  I think they all had fun, and she had almost 100% turn-out for her invites- she's a popular kid!

Happy Day Savanna!!

What's up with Wyatt?!

Today marks 19 weeks with Wyatt.  It's hard to imagine life without him now...
He is such a happy little guy- very alert and attentive, he watches everything and "talks" a lot.  He is very smiley and engaged when you babble with him.  He laughed pretty long on Sunday (11-4-12) at Arlene's on the kitchen floor while I tickled his cheeks.  He did it again a few days later here when I tickled his thighs, but not again.  He opened his mouth and acts like he is going to bust out... but his laughs keep getting stuck!  He does cry when he needs something, and can be quite loud and persistent (where as Wes was much more complacent) until you meet his needs.  After that however, it's right back to happy again!  He gets bored easily, and needs stimulation- a result of being in a busy house I imagine.
He is sleeping well- naps are not really structured yet... mostly because my schedule varies day to day.  He does sleep about 9pm until 3 or 4 in his co-sleeper than typically he has part of a bottle and falls back asleep until 5 or so in bed with us.  I can often pat-pat him back down until 6... but he does tend to be an early riser!
I am mostly done nursing now.  I would have liked to make milk longer... but it didn't work out that way.  I will try to continue a while longer, but he just gets frustrated and mad at the boob.  He loves his milk and holds his hands up and handles a propped bottle well!
He still doesn't tolerate the car all that well... I have to be sure to time long trips well... a bottle and no recent sleep and he may be fine... otherwise he hollers!  The same goes for the stroller- if it ain't right, you are going to know about it!
He weighed 15lbs 7oz this morning, and is in 6 month clothes- I'll begin to add the 6-9 month stuff into his wardrobe soon.  He spits up more than Wes and I have to stain stick his tops just about every night!  He subsequently wears a lot more bibs than his brother ever did!  He plays with toys very well now, reaching and grabbing and taking things to his mouth.  He has a few musical ones he can hit and do the sounds/lights.  He rolls back and forth with gusto and can move himself all around the floor that way!  He will often be way off in the perimeter of the room... sometimes wedged under the table or chair!

I love this little guy!

4 eyes

Savanna originally thought she would be a nerd with Billy for Halloween, so I had gotten her silly glasses to wear.  She changed her mind, and didn't end up using them.... but we did get some funny shots of Wyatt in them:

Halloween and a Hurricane

After last year's Halloween snow storm I thought I'd seen it all... Not the case!  We got a hurricane this year!!  While this "super storm" brought us just some wind and rain (and a brief power outage) Hurricane Sandy did some real major damage south of us.  Folks in NJ and NY are still recovering- so, while it was a "big deal" we didn't let "Franken-Storm" dampen our spirits.
Friday night we attended the PTO Halloween party at the school- the kids have always enjoyed this, and now the torch is passed to Wes!  I suppose we will have a few years now where we won't be "invited" before he is into Kindergarten.
Savanna had her first school dance the night of the party... so she volunteered to help set up the gym and after decorating she scooted off to the middle school.  Liv (and Selina) stayed and ran the tickets table for the fortune teller.  Billy dressed as a nerd, Wes a green dragon (not to be confused with last year's RED dragon) and Wy a horse (which most mistook for a giraffe)

As always the kids got loads of loot, tired themselves out and came home happy campers!
Beggar's night was still slightly windy and rainy, but we hit the streets anyhow (well, Liv opted to stay with Grandma Houston) with Savanna as an 80's punk rocker) I didn't get any other pictures, since I didn't want the camera out in the rain.  We went to Deerfield estates and refilled the pumpkins and bags... I think we will be eating this until Christmas!
