Homecoming 2010

Saturday night was pee-wee homecoming. This meant that Savanna and the other cheer leaders were in high gear! They made posters for all the players on the team and decorated the field.

They also did their much anticipated, much practiced halftime routine! We had a wet cold week, and they had to do all the finishing touches at cold, dark practices... but it all came together nicely!

I was glad to finally see the whole thing set to music. The night was quite cold, so we only watched one game, Savy did great! She got a bit out of sync at one point but figured it out pretty quickly! She was a little disappointed with herself, but we were so proud! The squad looked so good in their new uniforms. The Coaches and girls really worked hard to make it an awesome show. I was very impressed... these girls are 4th thru 6th grade and they did great!

Soccer Season

With the start of school, the Noble soccer season has begun! Olivia plays on the 8th grade girl's team at the Middle school.
We are proud of Olivia for picking up the sport!

Her ankles have been bothering her, and with the riding team going at the same time... I'm not sure she is going to be able to finish out the season... but for now... our little Soccer star is fun to watch out on the field!

Awhile ago Ride

A while ago Linda and I took Olivia over to Branch Hill to ride. Nic was good and we all had a great time! I don;t think I ever posted pictures... I didn't get too many and a lot of them were blurry (my camera on my phone isn't the greatest) But I like these of Olivia and Nic down in the river.

It was a nice afternoon, and a great ride. Branch Hill is a favorite of mine, and they have rerouted the trail that gets you down so you can ride across the water. It's such a nice spot... I was glad to have gotten Olivia over there!

Top 5

Reasons why Westley has to be watched at all times:
1. He insists on riding Pontiff style... He must stand in the stroller. I make other Moms cringe when we wheel by, but he has amazing balance and it keeps him happy!
2. He is determined and destructive! When he wants something (the straws, or dog food for example) watch out! He will find a way to get into it... he opens doors and drawers and can get into just about anywhere.
3. He climbs stairs. Quickly and quietly. If gates are not up... he is gone! The first day he climbed (having NEVER done stairs before) I "lost" him down here... couldn't find him until i heard thumping from upstairs. Yup, he had gone up and was playing with the tub toys in the upstairs bath. Got a gate the. next. day.

4. If he can climb on it, or over it, he will!
5. Anything and everything is a tool. He will manipulate his surroundings to get what he wants. See #2

Constant Supervision, many bruises; looking into helmets. Welcome to my world.

Kitchen Progress

Our kitchen remodel is almost complete... there are just a few last things that need to get done (some touch up paint, a few knobs here and there, kick board...) here are some of the pictures of the updating in progress:

It took a week and one day from tear out to functional again! I'm so proud of us for getting this done. It turned into a much bigger project than I originally anticipated, but I love the new space! It feels so much bigger and it functions so much better! I'll get some more pictures up once it is all organized and accessorized!

Kitchen Before

I forgot to pull out the camera until after I had started to pull everything apart... But you can get a rough idea of the kitchen "before"
I have lived here 6 years now, and I have hated this kitchen every minute of that time! The layout was completely arbitrary (Bill got the cabinets when somebody was tearing them out... so had to work with what he had) and nothing was finished. The room got thrown together and never finished. It was such a hard space to work in. There was neither enough counter nor cabinet space, so everything was always cluttered and i was always dealing with stuff in my way! Obviously I was thankful for a roof over my head and a room in which to make meals for the family... but secretly (or not so secretly) I have been hoping for a remodel...
Since Bill was slow (did I mention its been 6 years?!) I decided to do a "girl's renovation." Mom and Cindi were going to help me (with a $500 budget) make the most of it... well... once Bill figured I was serious he got in on the deal. We came up with a bit more money so we could do a few bigger fixes...
This post is to help us all remember what it looked like as we are now a few days into the job. It's coming along, and I can't wait for the project to be done! I am really looking forward to having a functional (and maybe sort of pretty) kitchen where everything has a place... check back for updates!

9-16-10 = 8 months

Here is Wes today at 8 months! I had a hard time getting good pictures...
@ 8 months it is hard to lay still!

Wes has learned to climb stairs, crawls up and over anything, opens doors, drawers and cabinets. He rarely sits still- pretty much constantly moves. He was 20.05lbs a few days ago and his growth seems to have slowed. I wonder if it is in part due to how active he is. He is now in 12 months clothes and has 5 teeth!
