Hay

After enjoying the beach so much we had planned to go back the next day with Bill.  But, that week before Wy was born was also prime hay making weather... So, between the load we got on Father's Day and then on our second scheduled beach day we ended up filling the hay lofts (and empty stalls in the barn) up!

 I got the job of truck driver this year... a bonus to being that pregnant!  I hardly touched a bale

 Savanna's friend Audrey was here for the beach, but when we got the cal for hay she stepped right up!  She said she wanted to help... I said she didn't know what she was agreeing to!

It was a hot day, and Bill was working when the call came in.  But, when the hay man calls... I call my Dad!  Poppie and the kids did great out in the field, we got this load ourselves!  Bill and his Dad and Anna all met up with us and we were able to get the rest in a second load.  We need another pick-up full, but for all intents and purposes we are ready for winter!  

Beach Day

In the last week before Baby was born, Anna and I took the kids to Wells to play at the beach.  We had a bit of a heat wave, and the ocean just seemed like the logical place to be!

 The girls each brought a friend, and they had a great time hanging out.

The water was amazingly warm, and even though I don't typically venture too far in I ended up right out in the waves with the kids!  Wes went out into the water too- I was impressed!  He had such a great time and was totally enjoying it- I'm hopeful we can get back often this summer... I hope Wyatt is a beach baby too!

Going Home

I opted to stay a 3rd day at the hospital, so we came home Monday 7-2-12

Poppie and Grandma, Jayson and Kaleb were at the hospital to send us off, then the big kids met us at home.  They had cleaned up a bit, and hung a cute sign on the mailbox! 

The trip was uneventful; Wyatt slept most of the way- then most of the afternoon in his carseat!

Wyatt Ash

Friday was the Big Day-

Wyatt Ash came into the world 6-29-2012

 @ 8:13am assisted by Dr. Okuniewski and Dr. Scherr

A nuchal cord and knot and thin lower uterine segment proved it's a real good thing we did the section!

 He was 6lbs 9ozs, 19" long.  His head 13" and chest 12 3/4"

 Mom and Dad and all the kids were so glad to meet him!  Auntie Anna did great getting the kiddos here on time, and Daddy took baby out to the waiting room to meet everyone while Mommy got all sewed up.  I had some significant scaring- some adhesions on my bladder so it took longer than anticipated to put everything back in order!  Poppie, Grandma Beth and Jayson were also here, and Anutie and Nic too!

 Grandma and Grandpa Houston came later in the day.  I had some serious neausia and ended up vomiting most of the morning, the room of visitors cleared pretty quick after I started getting sick, so it was great to have them show up as I was starting to feel better!

 Savanna had done her nails blue with "baby Wyatt" spelled out on them in celebration- it was very cute!

He has darker hair frosted lighter at the tips, but light eyebrows and lashes- I think he will be a blondie of some sort. His eyes are not clear yet- a blueish, brownish, green! What color they will be is still uup for debate.

Wes has done much better than I anticipated. He had a sleepover with the other kids at Grandma Houston's with Nic and Auntie, then at Grandma Beth's the next night (Billy and Liv went to Em's and Kurts- Dad and Em had gone to Bridget's wedding in NJ and Savanna slept at the hospital with Bill and I!) and did great at both. He got some army toys like Billy has- "big brother" toys now that he is a big brother! He had them to play with in the hospital room, and loves them! He loves Wyatt too (for now anyhow!) and hugs and "pets" him. While Dr. Brennan was examining him this afternoon Wyatt was crying and it made Wes upset. Signs of a good big brother!

 Bill took the kids home tonight (Sunday) and Mom is here with me now. Wyatt is doing well with the nursing- I am beginning to be hopeful that this might work out this time! He looks great and I *think* I may have milk coming in this go 'round. As of this afternoon he is 6lbs even, but I am hopeful that he will start to gain as it seems he is getting milk now. His NB clothes are a bit baggy, I almost could have used a premie outfit or two- but I think he will gain quickly~ he likes to eat! He had his circumcision done this morning, and handled it like a champ.

Welcome New Little One- We love you so much already! 

Sprinkle

This past week Mom and Mom-Mom had a nice little "sprinkle" party for me.  It was fun to have a bit of baby attention as the big day approached, and I know the kids liked the goodies and gifties.  One really nice touch was that Mom-Mom brought the china we have been talking about, these Lenox plates are some I may end up "inheriting" from her- and they really are a pretty pattern. 

 Wes couldn't keep his hands out of the cake, and had to be removed from the scene a few times as he literally could not keep his hands out.  He had full fists of frosting twice I think before the snack was done! 

 Mom and Mom-Mom, Grandma and Grandpa Houston and Auntie Anna all had gifts for baby Wyatt.  It was nice to get a few things, especially since we have pretty much all that we needed- so it was basically just fun stuff!  Mom did get the sun shade and bouncy seat I wanted, so it rounded us completely out- and all the fun clothes and toys were a real bonus!

The final countdown had begun...
